Past Journey

Privacy Policy

Travel through your past lives; your privacy travels with you.

Effective date: July 17, 2026

Past Journey ("we," "us," "our," or "Past Journey") provides this Privacy Policy so you understand what we do with information whenever you use the Past Journey mobile app and the features connected to it (together, the "Service"). Continuing to use the Service means you understand the practices set out below.

1 Your Photos and AI Creations

Past Journey only ever opens the specific photos you hand it through Apple's built-in photo picker — nothing is read from your library on its own. An image you choose may be reduced in size and sent to our processing providers, where automated AI systems turn it into the past-life portrait, card, or video you asked for.

Only upload pictures you are entitled to use, and keep highly sensitive details out of an image unless it is genuinely required for what you want to create.

When a photo includes a face

Some features allow you to submit a photo to create a stylized image or video. A photo you select may contain a face. Past Journey processes the facial and visual characteristics visible in that photo solely to generate and deliver the image or video you request.

Past Journey does not use the photo to identify, authenticate, recognize, or track a person, compare a face against a database, or create a faceprint, facial embedding, facial feature template, biometric profile, or facial-recognition identifier.

Before a selected photo is uploaded, the app displays a disclosure identifying the information that will be transmitted, the service providers that will receive or host it, the purpose of the processing, and the applicable retention period. The photo will not be uploaded unless you provide explicit consent.

Selected photos, including photos containing faces, are transmitted using encrypted connections to our cloud processing environment hosted on Google Cloud Platform. Our self-hosted AI models process the photos solely to generate and deliver the content requested by the user.

Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services act as infrastructure and data-processing providers on our behalf. They may process the photo only as necessary to provide hosting and processing services to us and may not use it for their own purposes or for AI model training.

Photos are not used for advertising, tracking, identity verification, facial recognition, or AI model training. We do not sell photos or information derived from them.

Uploaded original photos, including photos containing faces, and temporary processing files are deleted from our active processing systems within 24 hours after the generation request is completed or fails. Temporary backup copies, if any, are automatically deleted within 7 days. We do not retain biometric face data because we do not collect or create it.

3 Why We Use It

The information above lets us:

4 Who We Share It With

Sharing happens only where it is necessary, and only with:

When you submit a photo for AI generation, we share that photo only with the cloud infrastructure and AI-processing providers needed to host, process, and deliver the requested creation, including Google Cloud Platform and/or Amazon Web Services. These providers act on our behalf and may use the photo only to provide those services to us; they may not use it for their own purposes or to train their models. We do not share biometric facial data with third parties because we do not collect or create it.

We never sell your personal information for money.

5 Your Controls and Rights

Where you live may give you rights to see, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or limit how it is handled.

Send any request to [email protected].

6 How Long We Keep Information

Original photos you upload, including photos that contain faces, and the temporary processing data associated with them are retained only for the period reasonably necessary to complete and deliver your generation request, then deleted from our active processing systems. We do not retain biometric facial data because we do not collect or create it.

We hold on to information only as long as it is reasonably needed to run the Service, stay secure, settle disputes, and satisfy legal requirements. Your generation history may appear in the app for a limited window, while creations you save into your collection can stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.

How long we keep something depends on its type and the systems that handle it. Copies held in backups may linger for a short while longer before they are erased.

7 Keeping Information Safe

We apply sensible administrative, technical, and organizational measures meant to safeguard information. Even so, no transmission over the internet or means of electronic storage is ever perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection.

8 Data Handled Across Borders

The providers we rely on may handle information outside the country you live in, where data protection rules can differ. When the law calls for it, we put appropriate safeguards around these international transfers.

9 Children

Past Journey is not meant for children under 13, or under whatever higher minimum age the law sets. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone below that age. If you think a child has shared information with us, let us know and we will review and remove it where appropriate.

10 Updates to This Policy

This Policy may change over time. When it does, we will publish the new version here and refresh the effective date, and for significant changes we will give any extra notice the law requires.
